Instructions:
- Prepare the Cabbage:
- Take a small head of young cabbage.
- Cut off the stalk completely and remove it.
- Place the cabbage in the freezer. Defrost before cooking, which can be done under running cold water.
- Separate the leaves easily and cut off the hard parts.
- Prepare the Filling:
- In a large plate, combine minced meat, chopped onion, washed rice, salt, black pepper, and water. Mix thoroughly with your hands.
- Assemble the Cabbage Rolls:
- Take a cabbage leaf, place some filling on it, and fold it into a triangle shape by folding one edge and turning it over.
- Prepare the Cooking Pot:
- Pour vegetable oil into a large cauldron and heat it up.
- Add chopped onion and fry briefly.
- Add coarsely chopped potatoes and fry.
- Stir in tomato paste, mix, and pour in some boiling water. Place the cabbage rolls on top.
- Cook the Cabbage Rolls:
- Fill the pot with boiling water, add salt to taste, cover, and cook on medium heat for 30-40 minutes.
- This method results in two dishes in one, with the potatoes complementing the cabbage rolls well.
